Job Description

Seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, as well as all marketing functions. This is a take charge opportunity for a person with vision, initiative, creativity, and desire to accomplish big goals. The candidate will contribute as an executive on the leadership team, hire and manage the development team, and develop a plan to fine-tune and commercialize a (near) market ready product. A key responsibility will be delivery of the operating plan: achievement of growth objectives including market share, revenue, profit and return on investment for all the channels/categories of business and/or key customers. This person will also be in charge of managing and implementing marketing activities through research, strategic planning and implementation.

Job functions in this role include:

  • Form strategies for and complete tasks as prescribed in a federally funded R&D project
  • Help refine and build on a largely outlined product roadmap, manage integration plans and lead the product team in on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Conduct market research, determine customer needs, generate product requirements
  • Determine specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction
  • Envision and launch product workflows
  • Guide development team through definition, mock-ups, and execution
  • Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products
  • Drive product adoption, early customer installation, and market share growth
  • Provide input to determine product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
  • Maintain product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and monitoring employees
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding

 

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience in product management
  • Track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Knowledge of mobile/cybersecurity security market (federal and commercial space) and industry
  • Excellent networking skills, especially with regard to distribution channels and social media
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in mobile/cybersecurity technologies
  • Experience in requirements and competitive analysis
  • Good understanding of the market space and customer base
  • Experience in financial planning and strategy
  • Strong problem solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Quantitative and business analysis skills
  • Project and people management skills
